This project was all about maximizing space to build an impressive new double garage, complete with an adjoining gym and a spacious mezzanine area above. Because the layout pushed right up tight against the property boundaries, the initial groundwork was quite a puzzle. To meet strict building regulations, especially near the existing trees, we had to dig the concrete foundations a massive 2.4 meters deep! Once those tricky footings were poured, we built the brickwork up to the damp proof course and laid a solid block and beam floor for the new gym section.

With the heavy lifting sorted, we stoned and gravelled the garage area and the surrounding driveway, making sure to perfectly match the fresh stone with the existing rural finish. To handle all the rainwater from that big new roof, we installed a brand new soakaway and underground drainage system. As a finishing touch, we created a stunning statement entrance for the gym using hard-wearing sandstone paving slabs. We even built in some sleek uplights to really show off the lovely new building when the sun goes down.
