A Safe and Solid Concrete Yard Upgrade
For this commercial project, an old slabbed area right outside a crucial fire escape door had deteriorated to the point of being completely unsafe. The client needed a solid, reliable replacement that would seamlessly match the rest of their existing concrete yard. Before we could lay down a new surface, we had to very carefully hand dig the entire area to avoid a hidden high-pressure water pipe that fed the building's sprinkler system. Hitting that would have definitely made for a very wet day on site!
Once the ground was safely prepped and leveled, we poured a highly durable concrete pathway. We made sure the new concrete followed the exact same falls as the surrounding yard for proper water drainage, and we added a textured brushed finish to ensure maximum grip. The final result is a hard-wearing, low-maintenance surface that is strong enough to handle forklift traffic and keeps the fire escape route perfectly safe for pedestrians.
